Sita's beauty cannot be described — she is the Mother of the Universe, a mine of beauty and virtue. All comparisons seem trivial to me, as they relate to ordinary women's physical features.
Chaupai2 / 5
If one were to describe Sita using such comparisons, one would only earn the reputation of a bad poet and invite disgrace. If Sita is compared to ordinary women, where in the world is there such a beautiful maiden?
Chaupai3 / 5
Speech is garrulous but Bhavani's body is only half of Shiva's; Rati is deeply sorrowful, knowing her husband (Kama) is bodiless. The one whose dear brother is poison and wine — how can Vaidehi be called equal to Lakshmi?
Chaupai4 / 5
If beauty itself were the milky ocean, and supreme loveliness the tortoise, and splendor the churning rope, and adornment the Mandara mountain, and Kamadeva himself churned with his own lotus-hands —
Doha5 / 5
If in this way a Lakshmi of beauty were to arise — the root of loveliness and bliss — even then, poets would hesitantly say she merely equals Sita.
