I bow to the one who is the root of the tree of dharma, the full moon of joy for the ocean of discrimination, the sun for the lotus of dispassion, the destroyer of the darkness of sin, the remover of afflictions; who in scattering the clouds of delusion is like the celestial wind; who is of the lineage of Brahma, the dispeller of disgrace, dear to King Rama — I bow to Lord Shankara.

पाणौ बाणशरासनं कटिलसत्तूणीरभारं वरम्।
