माधवमास (वसन्त)-में मलयानिल के सेवन से जैसे खिली हुई लताओं का वन कम्पित होता रहता है, उसी प्रकार रावण की स्त्रियों का वह समुदाय निःश्वासवायु के चलने से अञ्चलों के हिलने के कारण कम्पित होता-सा जान पड़ता था। जैसे लताएँ परस्पर मिलकर माला की भाँति आबद्ध हो जाती हैं, उनकी सुन्दर शाखाएँ परस्पर लिपट जाती हैं और इसीलिये उनके पुष्पसमूह भी आपस में मिले हुए-से प्रतीत होते हैं तथा उनपर बैठे हुए भ्रमर भी परस्पर मिल जाते हैं, उसी प्रकार वे सुन्दरियाँ एक-दूसरी से मिलकर माला की भाँति गुँथ गयी थीं। उनकी भुजाएँ और कंधे परस्पर सटे हुए थे। उनकी वेणी में गुंथे हुए फूल भी आपस में मिल गये थे तथा उन सबके केशकलाप भी एक-दूसरे से जुड़ गये थे
