Victory to Rama, abode of splendor, giver of rest to the suppliant! You who bear quiver, excellent arrows, and bow, your mighty arms blaze with glory. Victory to the slayer of Dushana and Khara, crusher and destroyer of demons! You have slain this wretch, O Lord; all the gods now have a protector. Victory, O remover of the earth's burden, of boundless and generous glory! Victory, O merciful slayer of Ravana, who laid the demons low! The lord of Lanka, supremely arrogant about his strength, had made gods and gandharvas his subjects. Sages, siddhas, men, birds, serpents — he obstructed everyone's path. Devoted to harming others, utterly wicked — he has received the fruit of sin. Now listen, O friend of the lowly, compassionate one with lotus eyes! I had great arrogance — I thought none was my equal. Now, seeing the Lord's lotus feet, my pride is gone and sorrow has become joy. Some meditate on the formless Brahman, the unmanifest that the Vedas praise. But I love the King of Kosala, Sri Rama's personal form. Together with Vaidehi and your brother, make your home in my heart. Know me as your servant; grant me devotion, O abode of Rama! Grant devotion, O abode of Rama, remover of fear, giver of joy and refuge. I bow to Rama, the abode of bliss, whose beauty surpasses countless Cupids. Delighter of the gods, destroyer of duality, of incomparable strength in human form — worshipped by Brahma and Shankara, I bow to Rama, tender with compassion.
