Simple poetry and spotless fame — that alone the wise admire; even enemies forget their natural hostility and praise it when they hear it. (14a) But that is not possible without a pure intellect, and my intellectual power is very little. Be gracious that I may speak Hari's glory; again and again I entreat you. (14b) O poets and scholars, who are like beautiful swans in the Manasa lake of Raghuvara's story — hearing this child's prayer and seeing my sincere taste, be merciful to me. (14c) I bow at the lotus feet of the sage who composed the Ramayana — hard yet soft, beautiful, free of flaws yet containing Dushana. (14d) I bow to the four Vedas, which are like ships for crossing the ocean of existence — they who know not even a dream of weariness while narrating the pure fame of Raghuvara. (14e) I bow to the dust of Brahma's feet, by whom this ocean of existence was created — from which emerged saints like the moon and nectar, the wish-fulfilling cow, and also the wicked like poison and liquor. (14f) Bowing at the feet of gods, Brahmins, the wise, and planets, I say with folded hands — be pleased and fulfill all my beautiful desires. (14g)
