तातें मै तोहि बरजउँ राजा। कहें कथा तव परम अकाजा।।

(तापस ने कहा) इसलिए मैं तुम्हें बरजता (रोकता) हूँ, राजा! कथा कहने से तुम्हारा परम अकाज (विनाश) होगा। छठे श्रवण (कान) — अर्थात् तीसरे व्यक्ति — तक यह कहानी पहुँचने पर — तुम्हारा नाश — मेरी वाणी सत्य।

आन उपायँ निधन तव नाहीं। जौं हरि हर कोपहिं मन माहीं।।

राखइ गुर जौं कोप बिधाता। गुर बिरोध नहिं कोउ जग त्राता।।

(नृप ने कहा) सत्य, नाथ! पद (चरण) पकड़कर नृप बोला — द्विज (ब्राह्मण), गुरु के कोप से कहो, कौन बचाता? गुरु बचाता है यदि विधाता (ब्रह्मा) कोपे — (पर) गुरु-विरोध में जग में कोई त्राता (रक्षक) नहीं।
