The highway (Rama entered) was splendid and spacious with heaps of sandal and agaru of the highest quality, excellent fragrant substances and bundles of white silken cloth. It gleamed with unholed (pristine) pearls, articles made of crystals, flowers of every kind and articles of food of every variety.

अच्छी श्रेणी के चन्दनों, अगुरु नामक धूपों, उत्तम गन्धद्रव्यों, अलसी या सन आदि के रेशों से बने हुए कपड़ों तथा रेशमी वस्त्रों के ढेर, अनबिंधे मोती और उत्तमोत्तम स्फटिक रत्न उस विस्तृत एवं उत्तम राजमार्ग की शोभा बढ़ा रहे थे। वह नाना प्रकार के पुष्पों तथा भाँति-भाँति के भक्ष्य पदार्थों से भरा हुआ था। उसके चौराहों की दही, अक्षत, हविष्य, लावा, धूप, अगर, चन्दन, नाना प्रकार के पुष्पहार और गन्धद्रव्यों से सदा पूजा की जाती थी। स्वर्गलोक में बैठे हुए देवराज इन्द्र की भाँति रथारूढ़ श्रीराम ने उस राजमार्ग को देखा॥३–६ १/२॥
